Identify Male rabbit (Left) and a Female rabbit (Right)              

Gently push out the female vulva or male prepuce, the haired skin that covers the penis. In males that are a few months old, you may even be able to gently push out the penis itself from inside the prepuce.

The female's vulva is a V-shaped opening with a central slit. the male's prepuce is a small circle of raised skin with a very small hold in the middle.

If you have more than one rabbit and are not entirely sure about their sexes, have them checked by a veterinarian or an experienced rabbit breeder. Males may fight with each other; a male and female left together may breed at just a few months of age. You don't want these unexpected complications just because you were not sure.
